With the restart of the proton-proton collision program in 2022 (Run-3) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the ATLAS detector aims to double the integrated luminosity accumulated during the ten previous years of operation. After this data-taking period the LHC will undergo an ambitious upgrade program to be able to deliver an instantaneous luminosity of 7.5×1034 cm−2 s−1, allowing the collection of more than 3 ab−1 of data at 𝑠√=14 TeV.
