Report from LHC MD 3312: Replicating HL-LHC DA
/ Dilly, Joschua Werner (Humboldt University of Berlin (DE)) ; Albert, Markus (CERN) ; Carlier, Felix Simon (CERN) ; Coello De Portugal - Martinez Vazquez, Jaime Maria ; Dalena, Barbara (Université Paris-Saclay (FR)) ; Fol, Elena (CERN) ; Hofer, Michael (CERN) ; Maclean, Ewen Hamish (CERN) ; Malina, Lukas ; Persson, Tobias Hakan Bjorn (CERN) et al.
During MD3312 on the 30.10.2018 the non-linear conditions in the insertion regions of the planned HL-LHC were replicated to our best knowledge and within the capabilities of the hardware currently available in the LHC: A flat ATS-optics scheme of beta* = 15cm / 60cm in IP1 and IP5 was applied as well as sextupole, octupole and (normal) dodecapole errors were introduced into the machine via the corrector magnets in the interaction regions. Benchmark Between Measured and Simulated Radiation Level Data at the Mixed-Field CHARM Facility at CERN
/ Prelipcean, Daniel (CERN ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Lerner, Giuseppe (CERN) ; Garcia Alia, Ruben (CERN) ; Bilko, Kacper (CERN) ; Infantino, Angelo (CERN) ; Di Francesca, Diego (CERN) ; Trummer, Julia (CERN) ; Ricci, Daniel (CERN) ; Brucoli, Matteo (CERN) ; Danzeca, Salvatore (CERN)
A benchmark between various radiation monitors employed at CERN for radiation to electronics applications and their simulated values with the FLUKA Monte Carlo is performed at the CHARM mixed-field irradiation facility. Comparisons are made for different operational conditions, using data recorded in the 2015–2018 period..

HOM Mitigation for FCC-ee
/ Novokhatski, Alexander (SLAC)
High electron and positron currents (1.5 A) are planned to be used in the Future Circular electron-positron Collider (FCC-ee) with a goal to archive high luminosity of order of 2.3 1036 cm-2s-2 at the Z-production collision at the beam energy of 45.6 GeV [1, 2]. Coherent effects at the high-current machine impose certain limitations on the magnitude of the impedance of the machine. [...]

Recommissioning of the CERN AD Stochastic Cooling System in 2021 after Long Shutdown 2
/ Höfle, Wolfgang (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Caspers, Fritz (CERN) ; Dupuy, Bruno (CERN) ; Gamba, Davide (CERN) ; Louwerse, Reinier (CERN) ; Myklebust, Vebjorn Roed (CERN) ; Oliveira, Joao Carlos (CERN) ; Ponce, Laurette (CERN) ; Rey, Stephane (CERN) et al.
The power system of the Stochastic Cooling System of the anti-proton decelerator AD at CERN, installed on top of the shielding blocks of the AD ring, was completely dismantled during the long shutdown 2 (LS2) at the end of the 2018 run in order to gain access to the accelerator for magnet consolidation. At start-up, this required finding and verifying the correct delays for all 48 power amplifiers feeding to the two kickers by means of beam transfer functions for the two cooling plateaus at 3.57 GeV/c and 2 GeV/c. New CERN SPS Beam Dump Imaging System
/ Burger, Stephane (CERN) ; Bravin, Enrico (CERN) ; Roncarolo, Federico (CERN) ; Topaloudis, Athanasios (CERN) ; Velotti, Francesco (CERN) ; Veyrunes, Eric (CERN)
As part of the LHC injector Upgrade (LIU), the CERN SPS is now equipped with a new Beam Dumping System (SBDS) designed to cope with the high power beams foreseen for the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) era. Before reaching the dump, the proton beam (from 26 to 450 GeV) is vertically kicked and then diluted passing through a series of horizontal and vertical bumps. [...]
