Medipix3 proton and carbon ion measurements across full energy ranges and at clinical flux rates in MedAustron IR1
/ Bal, Navrit Johan Singh (Nikhef, Amsterdam ; CERN) ; Schmitzer, Claus Stefan (MedAustron) ; De Franco, Andrea (MedAustron) ; Enke, Sascha (MedAustron)
The Medipix3, a hybrid pixel detector with a silicon sensor, has been evaluated as a beam instrumentation device with proton and carbon ion measurements in the non-clinical research room (IR1) of MedAustron Ion Therapy Center. Protons energies are varied from 62.4 to 800 MeV with $10^{4}$ to $10^{8}$ protons per second impinging on the detector surface. [...]

Lepton reconstruction in the ENUBET tagger
/ ENUBET Collaboration
The ENUBET project aims at demonstrating the feasibility of a monitored neutrino beam in which the measurement of associated charged leptons in the instrumented decay region of a conventional beam is used to constrain the neutrino flux to unprecedented precision ($\mathcal{O}$(1\%)). Large angle muons and positrons from kaon decays are detected on the decay tunnel walls equipped with a sampling calorimeter with longitudinal, radial and azimuthal segmentation. [...]

The ENUBET experiment (NP06/ENUBET at CERN) has the goal of proving the concept of a "monitored neutrino beam", for a superior knowledge of the produced neutrino flux and high-precision cross-section measurement. To achieve this, an instrumented decay tunnel will be used in order to directly monitor the products of the neutrino production vertices. [...]

Report from LHC MD 3312: Replicating HL-LHC DA
/ Dilly, Joschua Werner (Humboldt University of Berlin (DE)) ; Albert, Markus (CERN) ; Carlier, Felix Simon (CERN) ; Coello De Portugal - Martinez Vazquez, Jaime Maria ; Dalena, Barbara (Université Paris-Saclay (FR)) ; Fol, Elena (CERN) ; Hofer, Michael (CERN) ; Maclean, Ewen Hamish (CERN) ; Malina, Lukas ; Persson, Tobias Hakan Bjorn (CERN) et al.
During MD3312 on the 30.10.2018 the non-linear conditions in the insertion regions of the planned HL-LHC were replicated to our best knowledge and within the capabilities of the hardware currently available in the LHC: A flat ATS-optics scheme of beta* = 15cm / 60cm in IP1 and IP5 was applied as well as sextupole, octupole and (normal) dodecapole errors were introduced into the machine via the corrector magnets in the interaction regions.
