Top physics results from CMS
/ Kumar, Mintu (TIFR, Mumbai, DHEP)
/CMS Collaboration
Recent results on the top quark physics related to the test of various discrete symmetries of the standard model have been presented. These include the search for charge asymmetries and violation of charged lepton flavor and charge-parity symmetries, conducted using proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment during 2015-2018. CMS Inner Tracker Status and Performance
/ Negro, Giulia (Purdue U.)
/CMS Collaboration
The CMS pixel tracker provided high-quality physics data during the LHC Run 2, finishing with a detector live fraction of 95\% and a hit efficiency of \textgreater 99\% in all but the innermost layer. However, issues encountered during Run 2 - in particular DCDC converter failures during power cycles, which were needed to reset stuck token bit managers (TBMs) - necessitated a thorough refurbishment of the detector during LS2. The CMS Pixel Detector for the High Luminosity LHC
/ Sguazzoni, Giacomo (INFN, Florence)
The High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) at CERN is expected to collide protons at a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV and to reach the unprecedented peak instantaneous luminosity of $5-7.5\times10^{34}\;{\mathrm{cm}}^{-2}{\mathrm{s}}^{-1}$ with an average number of pileup events of $140-200$. This will allow the ATLAS and CMS experiments to collect integrated luminosities up to $3000-4000\;{\mathrm{fb}}^{-1}$ during the project lifetime. [...]

CMS BSM short talk
/ Apparu, Dylan Angie Frank (Strasbourg, IPHC)
/CMS Collaboration
Three searches for physics beyond the standard model are presented, using proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 $\text{fb}^{-1}$ recorded by the CMS detector at a center of mass energy of 13 TeV. The first search is focused on new resonances production (graviton, radion, Z or W), the second one about compressed scenarios for top squark production, and the last analysis is on excited quarks and quantum black holes production..

Present status and future perspectives of the Endcap Timing Layer for the CMS MTD
/ Sola, Valentina (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.)
/CMS Collaboration
For the Phase-2 upgrade, the CMS experiment foresees the installation of a MIP Timing Detector (MTD) to assign a precise timestamp to every charged particle up to pseudorapidity $\vert \eta \vert =$ 3, empowering the CMS detector with unique and new capabilities. The target timing resolution of MTD of less than 40 ps per track will mitigate the effects of the severe pile-up expected at the High-Luminosity LHC, maintaining CMS performances similar to current LHC ones.
