Neural network-based algorithm for the identification of bottom quarks in the CMS Phase-2 Level-1 trigger /CMS Collaboration The Phase-2 upgrade of the CMS detector for the High Luminosity upgrade of the LHC (HL-LHC) includes the introduction of many new capabilities into the Level-1 trigger, including tracking and the new high- granularity calorimeter. The inclusion of tracking in particular offers the possibility of developing an algorithm to identify jets originating from bottom quarks (b-tagging) for use in the Level-1 trigger for the first time at CMS. Performance Plots Showing the Effect of Different Cuts and Weighting in the Baseline Approach and a Technical Plot Showing the Effects of Pruning and Quantisation of the End-to-End Neural Network Approach to Phase-2 Level-1 Trigger Primary Vertex Reconstruction /CMS Collaboration The Phase-2 upgrade of the Level-1 (L1) Trigger will see tracker tracks reconstructed and passed down to global triggering algorithms such as primary vertex (PV) finding. This will be used to associate tracks and other trigger objects to the PV in an event, reducing the impact of pile-up (PU) and increasing trigger performance in certain scenarios. Performance of photon energy corrections in the CMS ECAL using graph neural networks /CMS Collaboration The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector is one of two general-purpose detectors on the energy frontier of particle physics at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Products of proton-proton collisions at a center of mass energy of 13 TeV are reconstructed in the CMS detector to probe the standard model of particle physics, and to search for processes beyond the standard model. Tracker alignment performance in 2021 /CMS Collaboration An accurate determination of the geometry of the inner tracking system of the CMS experiment, which comprises Silicon Pixel and Silicon Strip detectors, is of vital importance for a precise measurement of the momentum of charged particles and reconstruction of primary and secondary vertices. The process of determining the geometry parameters of the inner tracking system is called tracker alignment. During the LHC Long Shutdown 2 (2018-2021) the CMS Barrel Pixel detector was disassembled and its innermost layer was fully replaced. Prospects for computer-assisted data quality monitoring at the CMS pixel detector. /CMS Collaboration Data quality monitoring (DQM) and data certification (DC) are of vital importance to advanced detectors such as CMS, and are key ingredients in assuring solid results of high-level physics analyses. The current approach for DQM and DC at CMS is mainly based on manual monitoring of reference histograms summarizing the status and performance of the detector. Tracking performances for charged pions with Run2 Legacy data /CMS Collaboration In this note the tracking efficiency measurement results are shown for legacy data collected in Run2. The charged pion relative efficiency is measured with an indirect method from the reconstruction of two decay chains $D^* \to D^0 \pi \to K \pi \pi_{slow}$ and $D^* \to D^0\pi \to K3\pi \pi_{slow}$ in data and MonteCarlo. The uncertainty of this measurement will be systematic uncertainty associated to the charged hadron reconstruction in CMS.. CMS-DP-2022-012; CERN-CMS-DP-2022-012.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - 8 p.
