Fast and flexible data structures for the LHCb Run 3 software trigger / Esen, Sevda (University of Zurich (CH)) ; Hennequin, Arthur Marius (Massachusetts Inst. of Technology (US)) ; De Cian, Michel (EPFL - Ecole Polytechnique Federale Lausanne (CH)) Starting this year, the upgraded LHCb detector will collect data with a pure software trigger. In its first stage, reducing the rate from 30MHz to about 1MHz, GPUs are used to reconstruct and trigger on B and D meson topologies and high-pT objects in the event. Tracking on GPU at LHCb’s fully software trigger / Scarabotto, Alessandro (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (FR)) The LHCb experiment will use a fully software-based trigger to collect data from 2022 on, at an event rate of 30 MHz. During the first stage of the High-Level Trigger (HLT1), a partial track reconstruction, using efficient parallelisation techniques on GPU cards, is performed. [...] LHCb-PROC-2022-011; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2022-011.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - mult.p. Fulltext: PDF; In : Connecting The Dots 2022, Princeton, United States Of America, 31 May - 2 Jun 2022

Allen in the first days of Run 3 / Boettcher, Thomas (University of Cincinnati (US)) The LHCb collaboration recently began commissioning an upgraded detector that will be read out at the full 30 MHz LHC event rate. Events will be reconstructed and selected in real time using a GPU-based software trigger called Allen. [...] LHCb-PROC-2022-010; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2022-010.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - mult.p. LHCb’s Forward Tracking algorithm for the Run 3 CPU-based online track reconstruction sequence / Günther, Paul Andre (Physikalisches Institut, HEIDELBERG) In Run 3 of the LHC the LHCb experiment faces very high data rates containing beauty and charm hadron decays. Thus the task of the trigger is not to select any beauty and charm events, but to select those containing decays interesting for the LHCb physics programme. Quarkonia production in (ultra-)peripheral PbPb collisions at LHCb / Wang, Xiaolin (South China Normal University (CN)) The cross-sections of coherent $J/\psi$ and $\psi (2S)$ production in ultra-peripheral PbPb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of $5.02\,\mathrm{TeV}$ are measured using a data sample collected in 2018 at LHCb, and the differential cross-sections are measured separately as a function of transverse momentum and rapidity. The photo-production of $J/\psi$ mesons at low transverse momentum is studied in peripheral PbPb collisions, $J/\psi$ candidates are reconstructed through the prompt decay into $\mu^+\mu^-$ in the rapidity region of $2.0 < y < 4.5$ [...] LHCb-PROC-2022-008; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2022-008.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - 5. Search for new physics with rare charm decays at LHCb / Scarabotto, Alessandro (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (FR)) The LHCb experiment is playing a crucial role in the study of rare and forbidden decays of charm hadrons, which are unique probes for hints of physics beyond the Standard Model. These proceedings present results of the search for semileptonic three-body decays of the form $D_{(s)}^+ \rightarrow h^\pm \ell^+\ell^{(')\mp}$, where $h^\pm$ is a charged pion or kaon and $\ell^{(')\mp}$ is an electron or a muon. Search for the lepton-flavour violating decays $B_s^0 \to K^{*0} \mu^\pm e^\mp$ and \boldmath$B_s^0 \to \phi \mu^\pm e^\mp$ / Basels, Jan-Marc (Rheinisch Westfaelische Tech. Hoch. (DE)) A search for the lepton-flavour violating decays $B^0 \to K^{*0} \mu^\pm e^\mp$ and $B_s^0 \to \phi \mu^\pm e^\mp$ is presented, using data collected by the LHCb experiment at the LHC in $pp$ collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $9\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. No significant excess is observed and upper limits are set, constituting the world's most stringent limits to date. [...] LHCb-PROC-2022-005; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2022-005.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - 4. New generation offline software for the LHCb upgrade I / Ferrillo, Martina (University of Zurich (CH)) In preparation for Run 3 of the LHC, the LHCb experiment extensively upgrades its detector to meet the quest for higher luminosity and physics yield. The corresponding increase in the data volume and the use of fast simulation pose a challenge to the data storage resource strategy and computing model. New software technologies in the LHCb Simulation / Mazurek, Michal (National Centre for Nuclear Research (PL)) ; Corti, Gloria (CERN) ; Kreps, Michal (University of Warwick (GB)) ; Davis, Adam (University of Manchester (GB)) ; Popov, Dmitry (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CN)) ; Siddi, Benedetto Gianluca (Universita e INFN, Ferrara (IT)) Monte Carlo simulations are key to the design and commissioning of new detectors as well as the interpretation of physics measurements. The amount of simulated samples required for the Run 3 physics program of the LHCb experiment will increase significantly from 2022 onward to match the increase in the amount of data collected with respect to Run 1 and 2 operation.
