Ghost charge measurements with beam-gas imaging in November 2022
/LHCb Collaboration
We present figures comparing ghost charge fraction measurements in the LHC during November’2022 van der Meer calibration fills 8379 and 8381 from LHCb, using beam-gas imaging, and from the LHC’s Beam Synchrotron Radiation Telescope (BSRL). The LHCb measurements are found to be compatible with the bunched method used in the BSRL analysis within the accuracy required for the calibrations..

First LHCb upgrade reconstruction results on fixed-target data
/LHCb Collaboration
In preparation to the LHC Run3, the LHCb fixed-target programme has been upgraded by installing a storage cell for the gas, called SMOG2, upstream of the LHCb nominal interaction point. Collisions of circulating protons or lead ions onto the gaseous target are acquired and processed in real-time simultaneously to the beam-beam ones. [...]

SciFi tracking alignment with LHCb Run 3 commissioning data
/LHCb collaboration
We present preliminary results showing the impact of survey measurements and the track-based alignment procedure with LHCb Run 3 early data, with a focus on long tracks reconstructed in the VELO and SciFi subdetectors. This data was recorded on 27.10.2022 with the VELO in a closed position [...]

VELO alignment with LHCb Run 3 early data
/LHCb Collaboration
The impact of the survey measurement and the track-based alignment procedure on tracks reconstructed in the VELO detector with LHCb Run 3 early data is presented. The data was taken on 06.10.2022 with the VELO in an almost fully closed position, where each VELO half was placed at a distance of 2 mm from the nominal fully-closed position. [...]

Recent updates from PV-finder for ACAT 2022
/LHCb Collaboration
Recent updated results from the PV-finder DNN algorithm are given here (to be shown at ACAT 2022). In particular, we present an updated plot of the performance plot (Efficiency vs False positive rate) adding the results from the latest model (from tracks parameters to PVs) [...]

Validation of the Lamarr framework with $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda_c^+ \mu^- X$ decays
/LHCb collaboration
Lamarr is the LHCb software for Ultra-Fast Simulation, designed to ease the integration of complex parametrizations, possibly based on machine-learning algorithms, within Gauss. As part of its validation, we compare the distribution of analysis-level quantities for the semileptonic decay $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda_c^+ \mu^- X$ with $\Lambda_c^+ \to p K^- \pi^+$ as simulated with Pythia8, EVTGEN and Geant4, and then processed through Boole to model the sub-detectors response and finally reconstructed by the Brunel application, with the simulation of the same decay mode as obtained with Pythia8, EVTGEN and Lamarr. [...]
